Here is whatcha gunna need for these hempy healthy kale chips!
-2 bunches of curly leaf kale – washed and drip dried
Make The Paste:
1/2 Cup Raw organic hemp seeds, hulled – soaked for at least 1 hour in just a bit of water, even though hemp seeds do not need to be soaked to release the enzyme inhibitor, the soaking is to soften into a workable paste to cover the kale.
1/2 tsp Himalayan Sea Salt
Juice from 1 fresh lemon or lime
1 Tbsp Nutritional Yeast
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
1/2 tsp Cayenne powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder (unsalted)
Place all the paste ingredients in a high-speed blender like a Vitamix and blend until smooth and creamy.
Take the washed greens and pull the leaves off the stems and break into smaller “chip sized” pieces. Place these in a bowl, or use a baking or glass dish and begin to mix the paste through the leaves. Use your hands to work it into the mixture. When they are coated relatively evenly place the chips on the dehydrator tray.
This is the finished product before we put it into our Excalibur food dehydrator, you get the idea. Turn the dehydrator to 105 degrees and let it run for 12 hours.
