Hemp oil has extensive benefits for the skin ranging from dry skin to the other end of the spectrum with oily problematic skin and everything in between. Be sure to purchase organic cold pressed oil contained in a dark bottle to ensure the integrity of the product. Hemp is very nutritious and nourishing when applied to the skin. It can also be taken internally but for the purpose of this article we will focus on the topical application benefits. It contains many minerals and vitamins such as vitamin B`s, D, E, calcium, magnesium, sulphur potassium, zinc, iron and phosphorus all of which are great for overall skin health. The concentration of high levels of chlorophyll (detoxing and anti-inflammatory), protein (rebuilds cells and helps with cell turnover) and EFA`s (help enhance cellular respiration in cells) are what particularly effect the health of the skin. It also helps balance out so many skin issues that are often not able to be treated with typical solutions. These include but are definitely not limited to: psoriasis, eczema, acne, boils, keloids, chronically dry skin and even hair. It can also be used to increase the growth of eyelashes, by using it as a makeup remover at night you are conditioning and enhancing circulation in the eye area. It works as a moisturizer on the skin because it acts as a humectant which simply put means it holds in moisture. It can be used as a face wash as well. It works great with about a teaspoon of salt in the mixture.
Have you ever noticed when you go to the beach your skin seems to heal up. Well this is not just in your head, salt heals wounds cleanly. This cleanser is good for all skin types. If you have severely dry skin you can also add honey to your face wash which boosts moisture and is antibacterial properties. After washing your face you can use it as a moisturizer too if you need an extra boost of moisturizer. Although you may think that oil will clog your pores it actually does the opposite by tricking your skin into thinking that it has produced enough oil, therefore helping to prevent breakouts and keeping the skin consistently smooth, radiant and youthful.
